Estero Bay Alliance for Care (EBAC) is a local, ad-hoc volunteer organization started in 2011 by City of Morro Bay Councilwoman Nancy Johnson, Mayor Jamie Irons, Councilman Noah Smuckler and Councilwoman Christine Johnson to include different Agencies and community organizations with the intent to study and address social issues in the Estero Bay area. Included, a current Morro Bay City Council member, representatives from the Police Department, Social Services, local churches, health care organizations, the Food Group, various other active organizations, such as the Community Resource Connections office, and legal services organizations.
The organization currently supports the Food Group, sponsored by the Morro Bay Lions Club furnishing a free weekly dinner at the Veteran's Hall every Monday night at 5 pm, Homeless Not Hopeless including homeless outreach, Community Resource Connections, lobbying CHC to expand health care in the area, the Creek Clean-up effort, establishing safe parking areas, providing warming shelters, continuing police-community relations, and Smart Housing Solutions, a alternative housing program.
